Custom Corona Treatment Stations

Corona pre-treatment micro-conditions a surface so coatings bond properly. We engineer complete stations around your panels and your painting process — conveyor, electrode assembly, high-voltage supply, and controls as one build. Designed in CAD, built on our floor, tested before shipment.

The Problem It Solves

Paint fails long before your customer sees it.

Coating that lets go

When surface energy is too low, paint doesn't wet and anchor on the panel. The failure surfaces later as peeling, pinholes, and field returns — at a cost no discount recovers.

Standard treaters don't fit panels

Corona equipment off the shelf is built for continuous film webs. Rigid panels — your size, thickness, and throughput — need a different machine, and nobody stocks one.

Two vendors, no accountability

A conveyor here, an electrode there, a power supply elsewhere — and when adhesion still fails, each vendor blames the other. We build the whole station, so there is no one else to blame.

One Build, Two Proofs

Designed in CAD. Built on our floor.

The same engineers who model the station assemble it and run it before shipment. The render and the finished frame come from one build — this is what "custom" looks like here.

How It Works

Panels in. Treated surfaces out.

Panels travel on a stainless mesh-belt conveyor through the treatment zone, where a corona electrode assembly micro-conditions the surface. The high-voltage supply energizes the electrode; controls interlock with your line so treatment only runs when panels do.

The high-voltage supply is our own module — the same unit documented on the Corona Treatment Power Systems page — so the electrode, the power stage, and the controls are matched as one electrical system, not three vendors' best guesses.

Everything above is the reference build. Your panels, line height, and throughput decide the final configuration.

Customization

"Custom" here is a method — not a paint job.

There is no standard model to deviate from — every dimension below is a decision we make with you, starting from your panels.

Panel size & treatment width

Treatment zone matched to your largest panel — no edge misses, no re-passes.

Conveyor height & speed

Belt height and line speed set to drop into your painting line as-is.

Electrode configuration

Electrode count, gap adjustment, and positioning per your material and coating system.

Automation level

Manual load, or integration with your existing conveyor and handling — your call.

Controls & safety

Interlocks, indicators, and panel language arranged to your safety standard and market.

Power class & utilities

Supply voltage, installed power, and footprint matched to your facility, not ours.

What we need from you.

Five items — rough is fine. An engineer turns them into a treatment approach and a quotation.

  • 01Panel material, size range, and thickness.
  • 02Coating system and curing — powder, liquid, and your adhesion test method.
  • 03Throughput — panels per hour or per shift.
  • 04Line constraints — floor space, available height, existing conveyor height.
  • 05What you have — panel samples, photos of the line, or earlier adhesion test results.

Missing some of these? Send what you have — we'll ask for the rest in one reply, not a long email chain.

FAQ

Before you ask.

Why corona treatment on metal panels?

Corona pre-treatment micro-conditions the surface so paint wets and anchors properly — attacking adhesion failures at the source instead of compensating with process changes. Whether it is the right answer for your coating system is exactly what the engineering review settles, honestly.

Is this a standard product?

No — and that is the point. Workpiece size, conveyor height, treatment width, and electrode configuration are engineered to your line. You won't find this station in a catalog; that is what makes it cover what catalog machines can't.

How do we verify the adhesion improvement?

Tell us your coating system and test method at the start. We run panels to your criteria before shipment, and video acceptance is available for remote FAT — you see the station treat panels before it ships.

What does it cost?

Quoted after an engineering review of your panels and process. Early-stage budget ranges are available on request — before you commit to detailed design.

Have panels that paint won't stick to?

Send the panel size, the coating system, and what you have. An engineer replies with the treatment approach — or the honest answer that your process needs something else.
